I've always been an outdoorsman. Some of my best experiences have been in the woods, and I truly believe that being out there lifts something up inside of me. I hear God clearly out there in a way that's hard to explain but impossible to ignore.
My name is Ryan Bailey. I'm passionate about family, where I came from, and consistently becoming a better person. My walk through life led me to faith, and that faith has shaped how I see the land, the animals, and the people I get to share it all with.
My dad taught me trapping when I was a young teenager. I was immediately hooked. I ran traplines on my own across the local farms and loved every bit of it. But life got in the way, I sold my traps, and I never thought trapping would be something I would get back into.
Fast forward fifteen years. My stepson started asking me about trapping raccoons and coyotes. Around the same time, we had started a small homestead and were dealing with predators getting into our chickens. It wasn't just curiosity anymore. We had a real reason to get back out there.
I got him some traps for Christmas, and we spent an entire season running lines together in North Georgia. We had a record season that year, one that is going to be hard to beat. But more than the numbers, it was the time together. It was passing something on. It was standing in the same tradition my dad handed down to me, and now handing it forward to the next generation.
That is what Trapping Tales is really about. Preserving outdoor heritage. Teaching practical skills. Promoting responsible conservation. And sharing the Christian faith that guides our lives, because that story is part of this one too.
